“Chud the Builder” Injured in Courthouse Shooting After Recent Arrest in Tennessee

A shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville on Wednesday afternoon left two men injured, including social media personality Dalton Eatherly, widely known online as “Chud the Builder.”

Shooting Outside Courthouse

Law enforcement officials say deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Clarksville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire around 1:20 p.m. on May 13 near Millennium Plaza, just outside the courthouse.

Preliminary investigations suggest the incident began as a physical confrontation between two adult men. The altercation quickly escalated, leading to an exchange of gunfire that resulted in both men being wounded.

Victims Hospitalized

Emergency responders transported one of the injured men to a local hospital in Clarksville. The second victim was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for further treatment. Authorities later confirmed that both individuals were in stable condition Wednesday evening.

Investigation Underway

The Tennessee District Attorney General’s Office identified Eatherly as one of the individuals involved in the shooting. At this time, investigators have not determined who fired the shots, whether both men were armed, or if any criminal charges will be filed.

Officials say the investigation remains active as authorities continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Incident Follows Recent Arrest

The courthouse shooting occurred only days after Eatherly was arrested following an incident at a Nashville restaurant. That case resulted in disorderly conduct and theft charges, adding further attention to the latest events.

Sheriff Praises Deputies’ Response

John Fuson commended courthouse deputies for their rapid and professional response to the situation. He noted that their quick actions likely prevented the incident from escalating further and emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of courthouse staff and visitors.

Authorities continue to investigate the shooting, and additional updates are expected as more information becomes available.
